What exactly is a Life Story?
A Life Story is a personalised book created from guided conversations with your loved one. It captures their memories, milestones, voice and personality in a way that feels natural and true to them.

Who is this for?
Families who want to honour a parent or grandparent, anyone wanting to preserve their history, or elders who would like to leave something meaningful for their children and grandchildren.

How do the interviews work?
We schedule gentle, guided conversations either in person or online. The pace is relaxed. We ask open, supportive questions and give people space to share what feels important.

How long does the process take?
On average, 4 to 8 weeks depending on the number of interviews, the length of the story and the level of detail your family wants.

What if my loved one doesn’t remember everything?
That’s completely normal. We guide the conversation in a way that supports memory, and we shape the story around what feels clear and authentic. It never needs to be perfect, it just needs to feel true.

Can you work with someone who is shy or not very talkative?
Yes. Many people start off quiet. Once trust builds, they usually relax into the process. We work gently and never push.

Do you include photos?
Yes. Families can send us selected photos and we’ll incorporate them into the design of the final book.

What does the final product look like?
You’ll receive a beautifully designed, printed book and a digital version. The style is clean, timeless and easy to read.

How many interviews are needed?
Most stories need two to four interviews, but this depends on the person and the depth of story you’d like to capture.

Can other family members contribute?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to share stories, dates or context that help us build a fuller picture.

Is this confidential?
Yes. Everything shared in interviews and drafts stays private. We treat every story with dignity and respect.

Do you offer this service outside Johannesburg?
Yes. Interviews can be done online, and the full process can be completed remotely.
